Stilly Valley Classic Car Show

We met Amy and Dan at the Conway Pub after looking at the hundreds of cars in Arlington.

Amy convinced Dan to try the grilled oysters.

What a good sport!

They really were delicious.

The cars in Arlington, WA, covered about ten blocks on both sides of the street.

We saw lots of cars in lots of styles and colors. My ex-car dealer husband could tell you lots of facts about every car.

I did notice that they came in all shapes, sizes and colors, which is about the extent of my car knowledge.

This one was pretty cool - very old obviously.

You can see Ron through the driver's side window.

Now this one I could really appreciate.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the mini Coopers are quite so mini these days.

Hard to beat a motorcycle on a day like this though!

This may not be a stock color (Ron only likes the purely authentic cars that have been restored to stock condition) but it is a pretty green.

Visitors from Alaska

My niece, Vanessa - due with her first child July 22, hoping for an early birth. Those last few weeks are hard!

My sister, Anne, turning 50 this month. Can that be true???

Anne's other daughter, Calli, with her adorable daughter, Rissa.

Sitting on the porch in the sunshine. What a beautiful day it was!

I don't get to see the Alaska crew much, so it was really special to have them visit while Anne, Calli and Rissa were down from Alaska.

Rissa is nearly 2, and a really adorable child. She is starting to talk, which is always fun.

Riding to Lynden to the Farm Festival

Beautiful countryside on a clear blue sky day in Washington.

The swamps, rivers, and lakes are all full after a full month of rain.

We stopped by the swinging foot bridge across the South Fork of the Stillaguamish River. Jordan Road is one of our favorite rides as it follows the river, winding between Granite Falls and Arlington.

We got to Lynden, WA, a small Dutch farming community near the Canadian border. It is about a 100 mile ride. Just perfect for a day trip.

As part of the farm festival, the parade included many huge farm implements whose function we could only guess. We got there at noon, and the parade continued for another half hour. It started at 10:30.

From our table in "Dutch Mothers" restaurant we watched the rest of the parade while we ate a very good "Dutch Rueben" sandwich and meatball soup.
