Second Annual Family Camping Experience

When our family from Utah visits, we have a party here at the lake.  It has turned into a camp out, where we fill the house and pitch tents, and eat and visit for a couple of days.  This past weekend was this year's family gathering.

Amy calls this one "the Gap model" - when he's good, he's very good, but when he's bad he's horrid - typical 2 year old.

Boating,

 Catching polliwogs,

playing horseshoes,

telling stories, 

taking the puppy for a kayak ride,

teaching a doggie to fetch,

toasting marshmallows for Smores - so much to do, and so fun to see all the cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. 

Family Camping

For the first time in many years, we had a family gathering where all of our kids we able to come to visit.  We ended up with an RV, a tent trailer, and two tents, 15 adults, 16 children, and 2 dogs.

We started out with a sand mountain, that by the end of the weekend was a sand molehill.

Ron stayed busy ferrying kids around the forest and back and forth to the lake.

I made several trips across the lake with kiddos who wanted to do a distance swim.

Great day to take the puppy for a boat ride,

or to teach the grandkids to row a boat,

or for a fisherman uncle to teach a child how to actually catch fish,

or engage in marathon horseshoe games.

George T. Bagby State Park, Ft Gaines, Georgia

Located on the shore of beautiful Lake Eufaula, the state park near Ft Gaines has cottages right on the lake, a nice boat dock at the lodge, motel rooms, a swimming pool, hiking trails, and a very nice marina in a protected cove.

We like to go down for lunch and sit on the deck overlooking the lake to eat and watch boats on the lake.

The lodge has a dining room, convention meeting rooms, boat dock, and gift shop.
